Four European countries will be involved in realization of the activities:

Bologna

Pescara

PALLAS, Instituut voor Culturele Disciplines, Leidein:

  1. Italy (Bologna and Pescara) will lead the project, from an administrative and organizational point of view, as well as at the level of the scientific direction, the research work and the technical realization of the outputs, being involved in the production of the Virtual Museum, the cd-rom, the seminars, the exhibition, the publication, and the creation of a transnational network on the history of European popular culture. Bologna will host an international meeting, open to the public, to present the activities and the results of the project to the citizens of the city. Pescara will host the exhibition and the seminars, addressed to the young people and the citizens of the city. The publication will be distributed in Italy.
    All these activities will contribute to promote the knowledge of this cultural heritage among students, teachers, and general public, allowing people working in the cultural field to cooperate with other European countries.

  2. France (Limoges) will contribute to the trans-national scientific team and to the research work, being involved in the production of the Virtual Museum, the cd-rom, the seminars, the publication, and the creation of a transnational network on the history of European popular culture. The students and teachers of Limoges will benefit from the cd-rom and the seminars, and the cd-rom will be distributed to the schools of France. The publication will be distributed in France.

  3. Belgium (Louvain-La-Neuve) will provide the organization of the exhibition, and will participate to the creation of a transnational network on the history of European popular culture. The exhibition will be hosted in Louvain-La-Neuve and will be addressed to young people and the citizens of the city. The cd-rom will be distributed to the schools of Belgium. The publication will be distributed in Belgium.

  4. Netherlands (Leiden) will participate to the trans-national scientific team, collaborating to the research work and the production of the Virtual Museum, the cd-rom, the publication, and the creation of a transnational network on the history of European popular culture. The cd-rom will be distributed to the schools of the Netherlands. The publication will be distributed in the Netherlands.

Since the beginning the project will be supported by a network of institutions and associations from other European (and non-European) countries, which will help to realize all the activities, providing information and materials for the Virtual Museum, the cd-rom, the publication, and the creation of a transnational network on the history of European popular culture (through the website, and the newsletter):

  6. Teluq L’Université à Distance de l’Uquam - University of Quebec (Montrea, Canada),
  7. Belphegor - Electronic Journal devoted to Popular Literature and Media Studies (Nova Scotia)
  8. Associazione Hamelin (Bologna, Italy)

All European countries will benefit from the activities planned for EPOP Project, through the website, the Virtual Museum, the publication, the transnational network on the history of European popular culture. The realization of these activities and the production of the outputs will need the creation of new connections with institutions working in countries not directly involved in the trans-national scientific team, in order to enlarge the network supporting the project.

The Virtual Museum Epop contains critical texts, images, e-books, bibliographies and filmographies concerning the history of European popular culture.
